The Board
The AstraZeneca Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Jean-Luc Balligand.
The majority of the members are academics representing the major universities in Belgium and offering their expertise on the most prevalent medical problems and medical areas in public health. Three members of the board are part of the AstraZeneca BeLux management committee.

Prof. Dr. Isabelle Meyts
Prof. Dr. Isabelle Meyts obtained her medical degree at the University of Leuven, Belgium in 1999. In 2007 she obtained her license in Pediatrics as well as her Ph.D.
Prof. Dr. Joke Denekens
Prof. Dr. Joke Denekens is MD, PhD, and general practitioner. She was also a full professor in the General Practice and head of the department of the General Practice at the University of Antwerp.
